North America's biggest ski area has just gotten BIGGER

Posted: 21. January 2005

Whistler, BC — North America’s biggest ski area has just gotten BIGGER. With Peak-to-Creek opening and a lift-less expansion to include the Flute, Whistler Blackcomb’s skiable terrain was increased by 1,100 acres.

Whistler Mountain Peak-to-Creek will add 4 new runs that run from the top of Bagel Bowl right down to Dusty’s, that’s over 5,000 vertical feet. One of the runs will be periodically groomed while the other 3 will be left as is, providing great new powder stashes, bumps and tree runs.

With the Flute expansion, Whistler has created over 700 skiable acres of inbounds backcountry skiing. The bowl will be controlled for avalanches but no new lift will be constructed. Just a short hike from the Burnt Stew Trail will put you atop a majestic powder-filled bowl, and what better way to explore this new playground than with one of our finest guides.
