MEESH'S WHISTLER REPORT - Epic Day in Whistler

Posted: 9. January 2006

Whistler, BC – January 9th, 2006…......EPIC DAY!!!! Best of the year by far. Snow reports said 35 cm of fresh, but there was far more than that on the upper slopes. Day started with fresh tracks down Ratfink. Absolute heaven. Snow was waist deep and face shots were numerous. That was followed by Paleface-Jimmy’s Joker. Snow was good and still light down to Red Chair.

The day followed with a warm-up down Dads and Green Acres. Snow was plentiful and light and even too deep in the flatter spots. With the T-Bars opening, it was a quick lap down Rabbit Tracks (fresh) and down to Harmony. Kaliedescope to Boomer to Wet Dreams was sweet and more or less fresh. Mid-calf, light snow…beautiful. Sun Bowl to Symphony Bowl was next and the snow was goooooood.

Nice fall-line with deep, light snow, how could one go wrong?!? Peak was the next adventure with Whistler Bowl and V.D. Trees being the call. Whistler Bowl was good but V.D. Trees was epic. Waist deep, light, fluffy snow and no tracks. Freshies all round. It was soooo goooooood we did it twice. It’s suppose to lightly snow all week with a bigger dump on Thursday. Freezing level is supposed to stay around 1000m to village so it should stay good through the end of the week.
