Whistler, BC – Well after a beautiful sunny July, the rain has returned and with it the usual chaos that normally happens in the WInter. A huge slab of rock came down on the highway just North of Porteau Cove burying the highway and railway under 10m of rock. (16,000 cubic metres) Needless to say the highway is closed. Estimates have it closed for 4-5 days as before they can start removing the rock that has fallen, they have to stabilize the slope. The route to Vancouver is now a 7 hour detour through the Fraser Canyon.

Margie was in the city when it happened so she is now stuck in the big smoke. I’m leaving for NZ on Tuesday morning so I might be going the long way around just to make the flight.

Other than that, not much else to report. Bike park is busy and work is coming along on the house. We are now starting work on the Master bedroom and bath. Might be done by the time the Olympics roll around.
