Meesh submerged in the deep stuff: Ratfink, Whistler BC – January 13, 2006
Who said the Friday the 13th was unlucky? Not us here at Whistler. Friday morning saw a reported 31 cm of light fresh snow, but I can tell you it was way more in some spots. Skiing was amazing. Ratfink was great as you can see by the picture. Skiers right was just deep pillow after pillow and face-shot after face-shot. Peak didn’t open but Harmony did and although the visibility was crap, the snow more than made up for it. Boomer Bowl was exceptional. Blackcomb is in good shape as well. Did the Blowhole and Spanky’s the other day and conditions were primo. Trees were great as well as Fraggle, Patroller Trees and Bark Sandwich were the way to go. Freezing level came up a bit, so the snow started to get a little heavy down Bear Paw. Yes, Bear Paw is open as is Goat’s Gulley. More snow is forecast for the week, so the skiing should be good.
How can you not smile on a powder day? Whistler, BC – January 13, 2006
Well I’m off to Sun Peaks for the week doing the level IV course. So I’ll get back to you guys when I return. Until then, enjoy the snow and wish for more.
