Posted: 30. January 2006

Whistler, BC – Well, we woke up this morning to this…..

Anyone have a brush ?!? – Whistler, BC January 30, 2006

40 cm of snow had fallen overnight!!!!!! Whistler has now beaten the record snowfall for January with over 15 FEET OF SNOW!!!! To say the skiing was good today would be an understatement. Seppo’s was gorgeous this morning and with the Peak and Harmony opening around 11:30 the pick of runs was numerous. Tiger’s Terrace and anything east facing was the way to go with the mid-mountain trees also great.

The snow was light on the Upper Mountain and “normal” on the mid-mountain slopes. The trees were in great shape with a new tree run being found today in the Wildcard area. Ratfink was it’s usual good run as was the lower Ratfink trees. Blue line and Turkey chutes were good early and anywhere on Harmony, especially Sun Bowl, Harvey’s and Robertson’s.

Fresh line in Gondola Trees. – Whistler, BC January 30, 2006

With 40 cm and a forecast of 100 cm of snow this week, we still have some more digging out to do. The call is for more snow on Tuesday night and Wednesday with freezing levels between village and 900m. So, now looks like a good time to be in Whistler. Hopefully February will be just as kind to us.
