Whistler, BC – Well, summer so far has been insanely hot. The bike park is going well as we have been pretty busy. Work on the house is also moving along. The last 2 weeks here have seen constant temperatures of 35+ and no rain in a loong time. With the extremely hot weather, the ever rare thunderstorms rolled in and created havoc with lightening strikes. Big fires in Kelowna, fires close to Pemberton and now Whistler. The mountain has been shutting down early due to lightening in the area, the gondola actually got hit and today we had the inevitable with a lightening strike causing a fire in the Crystal Ridge area on Blackcomb. See video. Fire was out by the evening, but they are keeping a close eye on it.
Off to New Zealand in a week for 2 weeks of YES in Treble Cone. Should be a welcome break form the heat.
