MEESH'S WHISTLER REPORT - Whistler's open with excellent skiing

Whistler, BC – I’m looking out my window and I can’t see the Peak because it is snowing again in Whistler. Whistler opened it’s slopes on November 24th and the conditions are quite good. Groomed runs are in good shape with minimal rocks and the off-piste is soft and quite good. Last week was quite cold so they were able to run the snow-guns non-stop and as a result, we are now skiing to Olympic Station on Whistler.

With the good snow the skiing is quite good, especially for the first week of December. Everything off Harmony is good. Little Whistler, Low Roll and Boomer were nice on Monday. Horseshoes were also good, just a couple of rocks poking through. With the Peak chair only running on weekends at the moment, the Saddle and Glacier Bowl is holding up really well with some of the best skiing on the Mountain. Reports are the Flute is also in nice shape. I myself have not ventured out there just yet. Not all the resort is open at this time but with the forecasted snow and colder temperatures, hopefully that will change soon.

With the great start to the season, both Margie and myself have been kept quite busy. We both have changed sections within the ski school with Margie moving over to Weekday Ski Esprit (Monday-Thursday) and myself moving to YES Improvement Programs. So far we both are enjoyinig our new “homes” and are looking forward to an exciting season. If you are planning to do an Esprit with Margie and myself please do let us know because we would love to ski with you again and if possible will try to arrange it. Well the snow is still falling and I have to go hit the slopes to try my new boots. The feet are sore just thinking about it. Think snow and we will see you in the slopes soon.
